Installing the Theme

  1. Download the theme.
  2. Upload and activate the zip theme from your WordPress dashboard.
  3. Add widgets to the sidebar and footer menu.
  4. This theme is supporting threaded comments. To activate the threaded comments, go into Discussion under the Settings tab, and activate the “Enable threaded (nested) comments”.
  5. Go into Permalinks under the Settings tab, select Custom Structure and type in /%category%/%postname%.htm (optional).
  6. Go to the Theme Settings, located under the Appearance menu. Theme Settings panel provides users a lot of control over their site from the theme settings page without touching single code. Each option has a clear description of what it does, so there is no need to go into detail.

The WordPress menu editor is a powerful yet intuitive tool that allows you to customize your blog’s navigation menus.

This theme supports the Custom Menus feature. This feature allows you to customize your navigation menus. For detail instruction, please read http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/.

How to display Featured Images for each post (optional)

Featured Images allow you to display unique custom images for specific posts. Open the editor of the post where you want to display a unique custom image, and locate the Featured Image module in the bottom right corner under Page Attributes. Click Set featured image. Each image will be cropped automatically.

How to display big images for Featured Slider in Homepage (optional)

This theme support posts to include in the Featured Content Slider. From your dashboard, go to Theme Settings Page, choose a category from which featured posts are drawn.

Use Features Images to display big images for slider in homepage. You should host those images in your domain. Open the editor of the post where you want to display a unique custom image, and locate the Featured Image module in the bottom right corner under Page Attributes. Click Set featured image.

General Tips

Install Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin. You need this plugin to regenerate thumbnails in WordPress. The WordPress post thumbnail support cannot generate thumbnails on the fly.

Changing Logo Image

If you’d like to change the logo, save your logo file as “logo.png”. The logo file is located in www.your-domain-name.com/wp-content/themes/Theme-Name/images/logo.png

You can also change the logo by entering your logo image url in the Theme Settings page, e.g.
http://newwp.templatepanic.com/images/logo.png

Changing Shortcut Icon

Enter the URL of your shortcut icon, e.g.
http://newwp.templatepanic.com/images/ico.png

Adding Custom CSS Code

Each theme has ability to add any custom CSS code from the Theme Settings Page. This will overrides any other style sheets. e.g.
body { color: blue; }

Activate/Deactivate Banner Ad in Header Area

Each theme has the option to activate banner ad in header area. Banner ad size is 468 x 60px. Go to Theme Settings Page to enter your banner ad code, e.g.

Adding Banner Ads to Sidebar

To add banner ads in sidebar area, simply go to your dashboard, click on Appearance – Widgets. Here are the sample codes you can use:

Wide banner ads (size 260×120 px)
